It was Monday morning and the teacher made an announcement. 'You will work in groups of four on a history project,' she said. The project was about ancient civilizations. They had two weeks to complete it. Mia was nervous about working in a group. She preferred to work alone. The teacher assigned the groups randomly. Mia was placed with Leo, Sara, and Tom. She did not know them very well. The group met during lunch to discuss the project. 'Let us choose Ancient Egypt,' Leo suggested. Everyone agreed because it seemed interesting. They decided to divide the work into four parts. Leo would research the pyramids. Sara would study the pharaohs. Tom chose to write about daily life in Egypt. Mia would create the presentation slides. The first week went smoothly. Everyone worked on their own section. But then problems started to appear. Tom was often late to their meetings. He always had an excuse. 'Sorry, I forgot about the meeting,' Tom said. Sara got frustrated with him. 'You need to take this seriously,' she told him. Leo also had trouble with his part. He found too much information about pyramids. 'I do not know what to include,' Leo admitted. Mia decided to help him organize the information. Together, they selected the most important facts. By the end of the first week, the tension in the group grew. Sara was upset because Tom had not finished his research. 'We only have one week left,' Sara said angrily. Tom looked down at his feet. 'I have been busy with football practice,' he explained. Mia suggested they all meet at the library that weekend. 'We can work together and help each other,' she said. On Saturday, all four of them came to the library. They found a quiet corner with a big table. Tom brought snacks for everyone. 'I want to apologize for being late so often,' he said. Sara smiled and accepted his apology. They started working hard together. Leo read his pyramid section out loud. The others gave him feedback and suggestions. 'Add more details about how they built the pyramids,' Sara suggested. Tom finally shared his research about daily life. It was actually very interesting. He wrote about food, clothing, and homes in ancient Egypt. Mia worked on putting all the slides together. She added pictures and made the presentation look professional. By the end of Saturday, they had made great progress. 'This is actually fun,' Leo said with a smile. The group met again on Sunday to finish the project. They practiced their presentation several times. Each person knew exactly what to say. On the day of the presentation, they were all nervous. Mia's hands were shaking a little. 'Do not worry, we practiced this,' Leo whispered to her. Their group was the third to present. Leo started by talking about the great pyramids of Giza. The class listened carefully to every word. Then Sara explained about the famous pharaohs. She talked about Tutankhamun and Cleopatra. Tom spoke about what ordinary people ate and wore. Finally, Mia showed the beautiful slides she had created. The presentation lasted exactly fifteen minutes. When they finished, the class applauded loudly. The teacher was very impressed. 'That was one of the best presentations I have seen,' she said. The group received the highest grade in the class. After class, the four of them celebrated together. 'We make a great team,' Sara said. Tom laughed and agreed with her. Mia realized something important that day. Working with others could be better than working alone. Each person brought different skills to the group. Leo was good at research. Sara was excellent at organizing information. Tom had creative ideas for the content. And Mia made everything look beautiful. The four students became good friends after the project. They started eating lunch together every day. When the next group project came, they asked to work together again. The teacher smiled and said yes. She knew they would do excellent work. Mia learned that sometimes the best results come from teamwork. And that was the best lesson of all.
