Emma woke up early on Saturday morning. She planned to go shopping at the mall. She put her phone in her bag and left the house. The bus ride to the mall took about twenty minutes. Emma arrived at the mall at ten o'clock. First, she went to a clothing store to look for a new dress. She tried on three dresses but did not buy any of them. Then she walked to a shoe store. She found a beautiful pair of black boots. Emma paid for the boots with her credit card. After that, she decided to get a coffee. She ordered a latte at a small coffee shop. Emma sat down at a table near the window. She took out her phone to check her messages. Her friend Lisa had sent her a text. Lisa asked if Emma wanted to meet for lunch. Emma typed a quick reply and put her phone on the table. She drank her coffee and watched the people walking by. When she finished her latte, she grabbed her bags and left. Emma continued shopping for another hour. She bought a scarf and some earrings. Then she went to the bookstore to look for a new novel. She found an interesting book and went to pay. Emma opened her bag to get her wallet. Suddenly, she realized her phone was not in her bag. She searched through all her pockets but could not find it. Emma felt her heart beating faster. 'Where is my phone?' she thought nervously. She tried to remember where she had last used it. Then she remembered the coffee shop. She had put her phone on the table there. Emma hurried back to the coffee shop. She looked at the table where she had sat. The phone was not there anymore. Emma went to the counter and asked the barista for help. 'Did anyone find a phone here?' she asked. The barista smiled and opened a drawer. 'Is this yours?' he asked, holding up a black phone. Emma recognized it immediately. 'Yes, that is my phone!' she said with relief. The barista explained that another customer had found it. Emma thanked him many times. She felt so happy and grateful. From that day on, Emma always kept her phone in her pocket. She learned an important lesson about being more careful.
