Lisa had been talking to someone online for six months. His name was Marco and he lived in Italy. They met on a language learning app. Lisa was learning Italian and Marco was learning English. They helped each other practice every day. Over time, they became good friends. They talked about their families, jobs, and dreams. One day, Marco sent Lisa a message. 'I am coming to your city next month for work,' he wrote. 'Would you like to meet?' Lisa read the message many times. She felt excited but also nervous. What if he was different in real life? What if they had nothing to talk about? She told her best friend Anna about it. 'You should definitely meet him!' said Anna. 'But what if it is awkward?' Lisa asked. 'You talk to him every day online. It will be fine!' Lisa thought about it for a few days. Finally, she replied to Marco. 'Yes, I would love to meet you!' Marco was very happy to hear this. They made plans to meet at a cafe near the train station. The day finally came. Lisa woke up early and tried on many outfits. She wanted to look nice but not too formal. She chose jeans and a blue sweater. Lisa arrived at the cafe fifteen minutes early. She ordered a coffee and sat near the window. Her heart was beating fast. She watched every person who walked through the door. Then she saw a tall man with dark hair looking around. It was Marco! She recognized him from his photos. Lisa stood up and waved at him. Marco smiled and walked over to her table. 'Lisa! It is so nice to finally meet you!' he said. They hugged each other warmly. At first, Lisa felt a little shy. But after a few minutes, they started talking easily. It felt like talking to an old friend. Marco told her about his work trip. He was there to meet some clients for his company. 'Your English has improved so much!' Lisa said. 'Thanks to you! You were a great teacher,' Marco replied. Lisa blushed a little. They ordered more coffee and some cake. Hours passed quickly as they talked. They talked about music, food, and their favorite movies. Marco showed her photos of his hometown in Italy. 'You should come visit someday!' he said. 'I would love that,' Lisa said with a smile. When it was time to leave, they felt a little sad. 'This was really wonderful,' said Marco. 'I am so glad we finally met in person.' 'Me too,' Lisa replied. 'Let us stay in touch.' They hugged goodbye at the cafe door. On her way home, Lisa felt very happy. She texted Anna immediately. 'It went great! He is even nicer in person!' That evening, Marco sent her a message. 'Thank you for today. I had a wonderful time.' 'Next time, you must come to Italy!' Lisa smiled at her phone. Maybe she would visit Italy soon. But for now, she was happy that they finally met. Online friendships can become real friendships too.
