1Personal Endings
Finnish verbs have personal endings that show who is doing the action. The subject pronoun is often dropped because the ending makes it clear. Present tense endings are: -n, -t, -∅/V, -mme, -tte, -vat/-vät.

2Finding the Verb Stem
To conjugate, find the stem by removing the infinitive ending. Type 1 verbs end in two vowels (puhua → puhu-). Type 2 end in -da/-dä (syödä → syö-). The stem may change.

3Olla (To Be)
Olla (to be) is the most important Finnish verb. It's irregular and must be memorized. The negative uses 'ei' + 'ole'.

4Vowel Harmony
Finnish has vowel harmony: back vowels (a, o, u) don't mix with front vowels (ä, ö, y) in the same word. This affects endings: -vat vs -vät, -lla vs -llä.
