Lisa knocked on the door of her boss's office. 'Come in,' said Mr. Johnson. Lisa entered the room and sat down in the chair across from his desk. 'Good morning, Lisa. Thank you for coming,' he said. 'Good morning, Mr. Johnson. Is everything okay?' Lisa asked. 'Yes, everything is fine. I wanted to talk about your work,' he replied. Lisa felt a little nervous but tried to stay calm. 'I have been looking at your recent project,' Mr. Johnson continued. 'The marketing report you finished last week was excellent.' Lisa smiled with relief. 'Thank you, Mr. Johnson. I worked very hard on it,' she said. 'I could see that. The data was well organized and the conclusions were clear.' 'I stayed late a few nights to finish it on time,' Lisa explained. 'I appreciate your dedication. The company needs more employees like you.' Lisa felt proud of herself. 'Actually, I called you here for another reason too,' Mr. Johnson said. Lisa looked at him curiously. 'We have an opening for a team leader position in the marketing department.' 'I would like to offer you that position,' he said with a smile. Lisa was very surprised. 'A promotion? Really?' she asked. 'Yes, really. You have been working here for three years now.' 'Your performance has always been impressive.' Lisa could hardly believe what she was hearing. 'What would my new responsibilities be?' she asked. 'You would lead a team of five people,' Mr. Johnson explained. 'You would be responsible for all marketing campaigns.' 'That sounds like a lot of work,' Lisa said thoughtfully. 'It is, but I know you can handle it,' Mr. Johnson replied. 'What about the salary?' Lisa asked carefully. 'You would receive a twenty percent raise,' he said. 'There would also be additional benefits.' Lisa thought about it for a moment. 'Can I have some time to think about it?' she asked. 'Of course. Take a few days if you need to,' Mr. Johnson said. 'But I would like your answer by Friday.' Lisa nodded and stood up from her chair. 'Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Johnson.' 'You are welcome. I hope you will accept,' he replied. Lisa left the office feeling excited but also a little scared. She walked back to her desk and sat down. Her colleague Tom noticed something was different. 'What happened? You look surprised,' Tom said. 'Mr. Johnson offered me a promotion,' Lisa whispered. 'That is amazing! Congratulations!' Tom said happily. 'I have not accepted yet. I need to think about it first.' 'What is there to think about?' Tom asked. 'Well, more responsibility means more stress.' 'But you would be great at it,' Tom encouraged her. Lisa spent the rest of the day thinking about the offer. That evening, she talked to her husband about it. 'I think you should take it,' her husband said. 'You have worked so hard for this moment.' The next morning, Lisa made her decision. She walked to Mr. Johnson's office and knocked on the door. 'Come in,' Mr. Johnson said again. 'Good morning. I have made my decision,' Lisa said confidently. 'I would be happy to accept the position.' Mr. Johnson smiled broadly. 'Wonderful! You have made an excellent choice.' 'Your new position will begin next month.' They shook hands to celebrate the agreement. Lisa left the office feeling proud and excited about her future.
