It was Saturday afternoon and Anna was excited. She was going to an escape room with her friends. This was her first time trying an escape room. Her friends Tom, Maria, and David were already waiting outside. 'Are you ready for this?' Tom asked with a smile. 'I think so,' Anna replied nervously. They entered the building and walked to the reception desk. A young man explained the rules to them. 'You have sixty minutes to solve the puzzles and escape the room.' 'There are hidden clues everywhere. Work as a team.' The theme of their room was a detective mystery. They had to find clues to solve a crime. The door closed behind them and the clock started. The room looked like an old detective office. There was a wooden desk, old books, and strange objects. 'Where do we start?' Maria asked, looking around. 'Let us search everything,' David suggested. Anna opened the drawers of the desk. Inside one drawer, she found an old letter. 'Look at this!' she called to her friends. The letter contained a riddle about a painting on the wall. Tom walked to the painting and examined it carefully. Behind the painting, there was a small safe with a code lock. 'We need a four-digit code,' Tom said. Meanwhile, David found numbers hidden in the old books. 'I found it! The code is seven, three, nine, one,' he shouted. Tom entered the code and the safe opened. Inside the safe was an old key and another letter. 'Twenty-five minutes left,' Maria said, checking the clock. The new letter gave them directions to a locked cabinet. Anna used the key to open the cabinet. Inside were more puzzles and a magnifying glass. 'Maybe we need to look at something more closely,' Maria suggested. She used the magnifying glass to read tiny text on the desk. The text revealed a secret message about a hidden door. 'There must be a hidden door somewhere in this room!' Tom said excitedly. They started searching the walls for anything unusual. David pressed a brick that looked different from the others. Part of the wall slowly opened like a door. 'We found it!' everyone cheered. Behind the wall was a small room with the final puzzle. There was a big lock with letters instead of numbers. 'We need a word to open this lock,' Anna realized. 'Ten minutes left!' Maria warned them. Everyone looked at the clues they had collected. The first letters of each clue spelled a word. 'The word is TRUTH!' David exclaimed. Tom quickly set the letters on the lock. The lock clicked open! A green light turned on and a buzzer sounded. 'Congratulations! You escaped with three minutes left!' said a voice. The door of the room opened and they walked out. Everyone was smiling and laughing. 'That was so much fun!' Anna said happily. 'We worked really well as a team,' Maria added. The staff took a photo of them in front of the escape room. 'When can we come back for another room?' Tom asked. Everyone laughed because they all felt the same way. They went to a café to celebrate their success. Anna ordered a hot chocolate and smiled at her friends. 'This was the best Saturday I have had in a long time,' she said. 'And we learned that together we can solve any puzzle,' David said. They all agreed and decided to try a harder room next month.
