Lisa and her boyfriend Tom had just moved into their new apartment. The rooms were empty and they needed furniture. On Saturday morning, they drove to the furniture store. The store was very large with many different sections. 'Let us start with the living room,' Lisa suggested. They walked through the showroom and looked at different sofas. Tom sat down on a grey sofa and found it very comfortable. 'This one is nice, but I prefer the blue one,' Lisa said. They checked the price tag and saw that the blue sofa cost eight hundred euros. 'That is within our budget,' Tom said happily. They wrote down the product number and moved to the next section. In the bedroom section, they found many different beds. Lisa wanted a bed with storage space underneath. 'This wooden bed is beautiful,' she said. Tom agreed and they decided to buy it. They also needed a mattress and some pillows. A shop assistant came over and asked if they needed help. 'Yes, we are looking for a firm mattress,' Tom explained. The assistant showed them several options in different price ranges. Lisa lay down on one mattress and closed her eyes. 'This one feels perfect,' she said with a smile. Next, they went to look at dining tables. Their kitchen was small, so they needed a compact table. Tom found a round table that could seat four people. 'I love the shape, but do we have enough chairs?' Lisa asked. They picked out four matching wooden chairs. The chairs had comfortable cushions on them. After two hours of shopping, they felt hungry. They went to the store restaurant for a quick lunch. Tom ordered meatballs and Lisa chose a salad. 'We still need to find a bookshelf,' Lisa remembered. After lunch, they returned to the showroom. They found a tall white bookshelf that would fit perfectly in the corner. 'This will hold all our books and some plants too,' Tom said. Lisa also spotted a nice lamp for the bedroom. It had a soft warm light that was perfect for reading. They added a mirror and some storage boxes to their list. Finally, they went to the warehouse to collect everything. The boxes were heavy and they needed a trolley to carry them. At the checkout, Tom paid with his credit card. The total came to one thousand five hundred euros. 'That was more than I expected,' Lisa said. 'But we bought everything we needed,' Tom replied. They loaded the boxes into their car and drove home. Building the furniture took the rest of the weekend. Tom read the instructions carefully while Lisa sorted the pieces. They used screwdrivers and a hammer to put everything together. Sometimes they got confused and had to start again. On Sunday evening, they finally finished. Lisa looked around the apartment with satisfaction. 'It really feels like home now,' she said happily. Tom smiled and put his arm around her. 'We should invite friends over to see our new place,' he suggested. Lisa nodded and started planning a small housewarming party. Their new apartment was finally complete.
