Last Saturday, Emma went to the city library to study for her history exam. She arrived at ten o'clock in the morning. The library was already busy with other students. Emma found a quiet spot near the window. She put her bag on the chair and took out her books. The exam was about the French Revolution. Emma had already read the chapter twice, but she wanted to review the important dates. She opened her notebook and started writing notes. After thirty minutes, her friend Lucas arrived. 'Hi Emma! Can I sit with you?' he asked. 'Of course! I'm studying for the history exam,' Emma replied. Lucas was studying for the same exam. They decided to study together. Lucas had a question about the causes of the revolution. Emma explained that high taxes and food shortages were important factors. They discussed the topic for about an hour. At noon, they felt hungry and needed a break. The library had a small café on the ground floor. Emma and Lucas went downstairs to get some food. Emma ordered a sandwich and a cup of tea. Lucas chose a slice of pizza and some juice. They sat at a table near the window and talked about school. 'I'm worried about the exam,' Lucas admitted. 'Don't worry, we still have three days to prepare,' Emma said. After lunch, they returned to their study spot. Emma realized she had forgotten her highlighter at home. Lucas lent her one of his colorful pens. They continued studying until four in the afternoon. A librarian approached them and asked if they needed any help. Emma asked if there were any books about the French Revolution she could borrow. The librarian showed them the history section on the second floor. They found three useful books with pictures and maps. Emma used her library card to borrow two of them. Lucas took photos of some important pages. By five o'clock, they were both tired but satisfied. 'I feel much better about the exam now,' Lucas said. 'Studying together was a great idea,' Emma agreed. They packed their bags and walked toward the exit. Outside, the weather was beautiful. The sun was shining and birds were singing in the trees. 'Do you want to get ice cream?' Lucas suggested. 'That sounds wonderful,' Emma replied. They walked to a nearby ice cream shop. Emma chose chocolate ice cream, and Lucas picked strawberry. They sat on a bench in the park and enjoyed their treats. 'Should we meet again tomorrow?' Emma asked. 'Yes, let's study in the morning and review in the afternoon,' Lucas suggested. Emma thought it was a perfect plan. She was glad to have such a good study partner. Three days later, Emma and Lucas took their history exam. The questions were about the French Revolution, just as they expected. Emma remembered all the important dates and events. She felt confident as she answered each question. After the exam, Emma and Lucas compared their answers. They had answered most of the questions the same way. A week later, the teacher returned the graded exams. Emma received an excellent grade. Lucas also did very well on his test. They were both happy with their results. From that day on, they decided to study together for every exam.
