Emma stood in front of her new apartment building. She was very excited but also a little nervous. This was her first apartment. She had finally saved enough money to move out of her parents' house. Emma took a deep breath and walked inside. The elevator was old but it worked. She pressed the button for the third floor. When the doors opened, Emma walked to apartment 3B. She put the key in the lock and turned it. The door opened with a small squeak. Emma smiled as she stepped inside. The apartment was small but it had big windows. Sunlight filled the living room. Emma walked through each room slowly. The kitchen was white and clean. There was a small balcony with a view of the park. 'This is perfect,' Emma said to herself. A few hours later, her friends arrived to help. They brought boxes up the stairs. The elevator was too small for the furniture. 'Be careful with that!' Emma called out. Her friend Tom was carrying the television. 'Don't worry, I've got it,' Tom said. By evening, most of the boxes were inside. Emma looked around at all her things. There was so much to unpack. 'Let's order some pizza,' she suggested. Everyone agreed that was a good idea. They sat on the floor and ate together. The sofa had not arrived yet. 'To Emma and her new home!' said her friend Lisa. Emma raised her glass of lemonade. She felt grateful for her wonderful friends. After everyone left, Emma was alone in her apartment. The place was quiet. She could hear the sounds of the city outside. Emma started to unpack her books. She put them on the empty shelves one by one. Each book was like meeting an old friend. Later, she made her bed with fresh sheets. The bedroom was small but cozy. Emma opened a window to let in fresh air. She could see the lights of the city below. It was beautiful. Before going to sleep, Emma called her mother. 'How is the apartment?' her mother asked. 'I love it,' Emma replied with a smile. 'It feels like home already.' That night, Emma slept well in her new home. She dreamed about all the happy memories she would make there.
